Ned Christiansen

Ned

Ned Christiansen is a full-time custom gunsmith who specializes in duty/carry guns, especially the 1911 pistol and AR15 rifle. He is part of the training cadre for North East Multi-Regional Training, an Illinois-state funded, police-only firearms  training organization.

Ned has been active in various types of action shooting competitions, sometimes on a national level, since 1976. He competed for twenty years at the Second Chance Bowling Pin Shoot, and more recently was the Michigan IDPA State Champion (CDP Expert class) in 2002 and 2004. He also shoots NRA Rifle Silhouette and NRA High Power on occasion, and trophied at the National Matches at Camp Perry in 2002 using an AR15.

Kurt Keebler

JWR

Kurt is employed as a contract recertification evaluator and training instructor for Homeland Security. His journey into the world of firearms began when he was very young. Growing up in a family of hunters started his education, but what peaked his interest was when his father took him to a police range where he was a Michigan State Police firearms instructor.


From then on his love of handguns and his belief that a person must take personal responsibility for their own safety and can never have too much training was cemented.


Kurt served in the Marine Corps for eight years and upon his release from active duty, worked in the Commercial Nuclear Security field for several years where he was a field training officer, member of the plants shooting team, as well as being responsible for maintenance of the sites weapons.


Kurt has attended schools from such instructors as Tom Givens, Jim Higgenbotham and Chuck Habermehl. He has attended courses in High Risk Entry, Dynamic Marksmanship, as well as Counter Terrorism.


Kurt is also an NRA Instructor in Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Personal Protection, Home Firearms Safety as well as an NRA Range Safety Officer. Kurt can be reached at keeb@drtg.net.

 

 

Jon Rutledge

JWR

Jon is a Michigan State University Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.  Since graduation from MSU, Jon has been working in the Nuclear Security Industry as a part of the armed security force at a nuclear power plant in Southwestern Michigan.  While in nuclear security Jon has been selected for his site’s pistol team, Force-On-Force Adversary Team, and other tactical teams

Jon is an NRA Law Enforcement Instructor as well as the proprietor of DRTG.  Jon has been proactively attending training for years learning from many instructors including Evan Marshall, Jim Higginbotham, Tom Givens, and Pat Rogers.  Jon continues to attend and provide training keeping in mind that learning is a continuing process and we always have work to do.

Jeff Tinsley

JST

Jeff began his learning journey over 12 years ago.  During this time he has attended courses from such notable instructors and facilities as: Jon Farnam, Gunsite, Southnarc, Pat Rogers, Louis Awerbuck, Paul Gomez, Dean Caputo, Steve Moses, Henk Iverson, Gabe Suarez, and many more.

Some of the courses he has attended include Defensive Pistol, Shotgun Operation, Carbine Operation, Edge Weapon, Unarmed Concepts, OC Spray Deployment, Low Light Conflict, Vehicle Operations, Team Tactics, and weapons maintenance for various weapon platforms. In addition to this training, Jeff attends several different shooting events including: the National Tactical Invitational, Rangemasters Polite Society Match & Tactical Conference, DCM and IDPA matches in the Northern Indiana Southern Michigan area.

This training, in addition to personal real world incidents, have solidified a belief in the need for an individual to be personally prepared and responsible for one’s own safety regardless of profession or status.

Jeff began instructing on a part time basis 7 years ago. In addition to graduations from numerous instructor development courses, he is currently an NRA certified instructor in various disciplines.
